About

My journey

I grew up in the Kent countryside before studying a four-year BA in Modern Languages, including spending time in Russia and Germany.

After graduating, I increasingly felt lost. The structures of school and university that had guided my life up to that point fell away, and despite having gained a lot of academic knowledge, I realised I didn't really understand myself, or why I seemed to be struggling.

During my twenties with the help of therapy I slowly gained more awareness of how emotional inheritances from my upbringing and family patterns were impacting my way of being in the world. I had a lot to be grateful for - and in many areas, including self-care and honouring my feelings, a lot to learn and discover. Working through my own challenges taught me how life-changing it can be to have a supportive space - a therapeutic relationship - in which to explore your experiences and find a way forward.

I worked for a number of years in the education field, teaching English to adults abroad and in London before spending five years teaching German, French and Russian in a Waldorf school.

I began my therapist training journey in 2021. After attending an introductory workshop I was drawn to Gestalt's emphasis on aliveness in the present moment, through raising awareness of how we impact, and are impacted by, each other. Over my training journey I became interested in themes such as shame, addiction cycles, embodied support and the body's natural trauma responses.

I currently live in the Gloucestershire countryside. I see clients at an addiction charity in Bristol, and am in private practice in Bristol and Bath. My work is based in up-to-date trauma-informed Gestalt practice with a grounding in my own personal learning journey and my teaching experience. I continue to support myself with embodied practices and supervision. In my spare time I enjoy being in nature, singing in choirs and spending time with friends and family.
